timex camper - true american classic

the timex camper is an iconic american watch. stylish, rugged and well priced. for me it makes the perfect field watch. after years of buying and losing $80+ watches intended for solely for dirty / rugged use I got fed up and sprang for a timex camper (see below - three years going and still ticking). at $20 a pop you can't go wrong. light as a feather and built like a tank the camper is the perfect outdoor watch. see the link below for the original gearpatrol.com article. i suggest you pick one up for yourself.

my personal camper

legendary eberhardt faber blackwing 602

for those of you who don't know the blackwing 602 is regarded as one of the finest pencils ever made. discontinued in 1998 the pencil has since developed a legendary status and a cult following. evidence of which can be seen on ebay where single pencils are going for $35 and boxes of 12 going from anywhere from $250 to $300.

alas!there is hope on the horizon! US pencil manufacturer california cedar, who already makes a great line of fine writing instruments, will be reproducing a true-to-the-original blackwing 602. details are few and far between right now but several pre-production mockups (see above, bottom pencil) have been sent to a select group. visit the fine sites below for additional information and reviews.
